ENGAGEMENT | Little Compton Engagement Session with Pete and Sarah

Sunday June 1, 2014   |   Little Compton Engagement Session

I first met Sarah at the Southern New England Bridal Expo in January and was thrilled that she actually emailed me before I even got home from the bridal show that night! We met a few weeks after and fast forward to June 1st when we photographed their engagement session.

What we learned: Pete and Sarah like to have fun. They were constantly laughing throughout the entire session. Pete is a history buff and gave us the story behind each location they selected.

We are looking forward to their wedding in September 2014 at Kempanara’s Clam Bake.

See a questionaire from the couple below:

Bride’s Name: Sarah Chase
Groom’s Name: Peter Ferreira
Bride’s Profession: Special Education
Groom’s Profession: Carpenter/Contractor

Their favorite beer: Guiness

How did you meet? Pete & I met in Little Compton, Rhode Island in the summer of 2004. We were at the Stone House listening to friends play an acoustic set at a music series held in the Stone House Barn. We met outside under the big tree, with Pete most likely commenting on my massive amount of freckles! We were both drinking a Guinness, so I think it was basically fate. Guinness and freckles……meant to be!

How did you propose? Pete purposed last summer in 2013, in Cape Cod on our annual summer vacation. He brought me to Scargo Tower, which overlooks Cape Cod Bay. I was fiddling with my camera to take a photo of the sunset, looked up and saw him down on one knee. I seriously don’t know what he said…I only saw a very shiny ring! We went and played mini golf to celebrate, then returned to our house rental to tell Pete’s family.

How did you select your venue: Kempenaar’s Clambake Club is a combination of all the things we love. It has seafood, beer and outdoor games on a beautiful piece of property right on Aquidneck Island. Plus, it can accommodate all of our friends and family. The owner, Chuck Kempenaar, is super easy to talk to and very accommodating.

Worst part of wedding planning: The worst part of wedding planning is that I am a control freak and I need to accept help from others. I have come to realize that doing it all by myself is IMPOSSIBLE.

First impression of Nicole Gesmondi Photographer, LLC {NGP}? I saw Nicole and Paul at the Providence Bridal Show. They had the best photo albums with the best layout and creativity. Talking with Nicole on the phone the first time, I felt as if she already knew me and Pete & it was a perfect match!

Why did you select NGP as your wedding photographer? Nicole is very easy to talk to. She is great at focusing on the business side, but getting to know us personally and for those reasons, you feel comfortable around her when she takes your photo.

Any advice for couples planning their wedding? My advice would be that wedding planning goes by super fast. Don’t freak out on the minor details, look at the big picture! You’re creating a day to celebrate with your closest friends and family. If it’s not perfect, they won’t care. They will love whatever you do, because they love you!
