This wedding season we were luckily enough to work at our favorite wedding venue, Glen Manor House – twice! Andrea and her fiancé contacted us via The Knot back in February while they were planning their wedding out of state (from NY). Their wedding had a vintage feel and the couple made most of their wedding decor including florals and stationary – by hand which was awesome!

We spoke with them after they returned from their 3 week escape to New Zealand and Fiji {can we say jealous?} for a little Q & A, here’s what they had to say about planning their wedding planning and some fun facts about their day:

What made your wedding unique? I hand made my decor, florals and invites!

What was your favorite part of your reception? Our first dance! We spent so long practicing, I was so glad when it was finished and that I didn’t fall.

What was your first dance song? John Legend “All of Me”

How far in advance did you book us? 7 months before the wedding

What was your favorite part about working with us? You are super quick to respond!

One thing you learned from planning your wedding is…no matter how much planning you do, something is bound to go wrong and not happen as planned. Just go with it.

Who designed your wedding dress? I wore a vintage 1969 Priscilla of Boston gown that I purchased at a vintage bridal shop on the Cape.

What designer did the Groom wear? Calvin Klein purchased at Men’s Warehouse

Where are you going on your honeymoon? 3 weeks in New Zealand and Fuji

Where did you register? Beth, Bath and Beyond & Crate and Barrel

What advice can you offer the newly engaged couples? Give yourself plenty of time to plan so that it’s not all rush and panic trying to get things scheduled.
