A Providence Minimony with a Post Ceremony Surprise!

Due to Rhode Island COVID19 restrictions, Harley and Trish had to postpone their “big shebang wedding reception” until January 2022, but the pandemic wasn’t going to stop them from saying “I do” on their original wedding date! With a guestlist limited to their daughters, parents, & stepparents, Harley and Trish decided to have a Minimony instead, otherwise known as a mini wedding ceremony!

On January 9th, 2021 we met up with Harley and Trish at Homewood Suites to capture some “getting ready” photos before their first look at Biltmore Park in downtown Providence. We loved Trish’s red and black accessories to match Harley’s kilt; so unique!

After the first look, we went into the Graduate Providence for the wedding ceremony. One benefit of having a Minimony during a pandemic was they had the entire (gorgeous!) lobby of the hotel all to themselves! Honestly, the dramatic architecture, bright colors, and funky furniture is a photographer’s dream!

Harley and Trish exchanged their own vows at the top of the grand staircase and involved their daughters in every part of the ceremony, which was super sweet! The Graduate even provided a champagne (or Sprite) toast to celebrate afterwards!

Unbeknownst to Harley and Trish, their friends reached out to us asking for help with a post ceremony surprise since they could not attend the Minimony at the Graduate. We were happy to oblige and hatched a plan for the newlyweds! After the champagne toast, we suggested going back to Biltmore Park for more wedding photos while we simultaneously text Trish’s friend Mindy with “NOW!” By the time we got outside, all their closest friends were waiting in the park with sparklers cheering them on! Harley and Trish were SO excited, and the moment made some beautiful wedding memories, which we were so happy to capture for them to remember always!
