We were so excited to photograph Fred and Aurelie’s August wedding at Greenvale Vineyard because we knew their friends and family were flying in from France to celebrate their wedding day, and we do love anything with a French flair!
Fred and Aurelie both live and work in Rhode Island now and have daughters from previous marriages. They were introduced a few years ago by mutual friends and it didn’t take long for their relationship to grow. Their first date was actually at the Matunuck Oyster Bar, one of our personal favorites! The fact that Fred and Aurelie are both French but had to travel all the way to the United States to meet each other and fall in love was a little bit of a joke their friend (who officiated) mentioned during the ceremony – everyone laughed!
The ceremony itself took place in the vineyard on a gorgeous afternoon with the lush vines surrounding them. It was very intimate and elegant, with beautiful (but not over the top) décor in blues. French touches were everywhere, including with the delicious French desserts. In fact, even the ceremony was in French, but luckily it was translated into English for all their American guests! Everyone was dressed to the 9’s as well – very Euro!
When we first connected, Fred and Aurelie said it was important for them to have professional photos from their wedding to "immortalize" the day. We made sure we were there to capture every moment from when everyone rolled up in a big yellow American school bus to the end when everyone was eating and dancing. After all was said and done, I asked what their favorite parts of the day were, Aurelie said it was walking down the aisle holding her daughter’s hand, and Fred said it was the “official” kiss!

Q: How did you propose?
Aurelie: Fred proposed on one knee at a restaurant called “Sans Soucis” while on a little getaway in Arizona in May 2022. A total surprise!
Q: What was your favorite part about working with us?
A: Your discretion in taking candid pics and when it was time for the posed pics you were very explicit in guiding us and you had great ideas with attention to detail.
Q: What advice do you have for couples looking to hire a wedding photographer?
A: Do some research online and look attentively at their work to find your style. I knew we wanted to work with Nicole and Paul because they listened to our needs and understood what we were looking for!
