Roger Williams Park offers a variety of backdrops such as the many bridges, reflective ponds, majestic trees, and the Japanese garden – Just to name a few. The park is also dog friendly, and I knew we needed a pretty place for Chili to join Mom and Dad during their engagement shoot.

I knew Paul and I would get along great with Kelsey and Jonathan right away because we have a few fun facts in common: Kelsey and Jonathan met online, just like us AND their first date was at The Eddy, one of our FAVORITE cocktail bars in Providence! It’s always awesome to find commonalities with our couples; we ended up having some fun chats about our favorite local watering holes!

The day of their engagement shoot we lucked out on the weather and caught some gorgeous fall foliage. The sunlight filtering through the trees was pure magic, and really made the colors pop on the changing leaves. Kelsey and Jonathan both said this was one of their favorite aspects of their session! Their favorite image is the one where they are standing looking at each other with beautiful greenery all around them. While I love so many photos from their session, I admit it’s one of my favorites, too; You can see the love they have for each other. We can’t wait to work with them again when we photograph their wedding!

Q & A with Kelsey + Jonathan…

Q: Why did you want to book an engagement session?
A: To capture the excitement of the new engagement and we wanted the memories to look back on.

Q: Was there anything that you learned about us that you didn't know ahead of time?
A: Nicole knows all the things! She brought cute fall-themed picnic props and knew all of the best spots in Roger Williams Park to shoot. We were worried that we had no idea what we were doing, but Nicole made it so easy.
