Mike and Lauren’s Minimony Backyard Wedding
Saturday, August 8, 2020
Mike and Lauren originally imagined a large wedding for August 8, 2020 – but unfortunately, COVID19 and state regulations put a stop to their big party plans. Like some couples in the same situation, they opted for a “Minimony” wedding, which is much smaller, to preserve the original date of their wedding while hoping to have a bigger post-pandemic reception later.
For the ceremony, Mike and Lauren transformed her Moms’ backyard into a romantic ceremony space complete with a wedding arbor, amazing florals, & lanterns for ambiance. It was so sweet to witness and capture the moments they said “I do” with only their immediate family looking on. Intimate scenes like this remind you of what a wedding is really all about – the bride and groom!
What do Mike and Lauren have to say? We asked, they answered!
What was the best moment of your wedding day?
Lauren: Our first dance as husband and wife. We danced to "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz and sang to each other the entire time. I was able to get lost in the moment and enjoy that special dance with my new husband.
Mike: Seeing my soon to be wife in her wedding dress for the first time as she walked down the aisle!
Why was it important to have your Minimony wedding photographed?
We really wanted to have beautiful pictures to not only remember the day, but to share with our friends and family that could not be there. Additionally, with the state of the wedding industry and COVID being so uncertain, we wanted to make sure we had our special day documented in the best way possible.
