Erin and I go way back to the University of Hartford and our Phi Mu sorority days. I have photographed her and her family many times over the years including a generational portrait that was still on display in her house when I arrived on her wedding day.

I first met Kevin during their Newport engagement session. I recall thinking he made Erin laugh the whole time, and he was a keeper for sure!

Their wedding was on a gorgeous June day at Endicott Estate in Dedham, Massachusetts. A historical mansion sitting among sprawling lawns, magnificent trees, and manicured gardens, it was a beautiful venue they both have personal connections to, so it was an easy choice for them! My standout memory before the ceremony was during the first look, when Kevin exclaimed, “Oh my God, you look amazing!" Genuine reactions like that always melt my heart, and once again I thought Kevin is such a keeper!

Another favorite moment of the day for me was Erin and Kevin’s unplugged ceremony. Cell phones are such a distraction! At the onset, the officiant, their best friend Dustin, explained the couple has hired "professional ninja photographers" (US!) to document the day and they would prefer their guests be present for the ceremony. He knew guests still wanted photos, so he asked everyone to stand up and he directed Erin and Kevin through a few poses: happy, emotional, and a kiss. Then he told everyone to sit down and put their devices away. IT WAS AWESOME and the guests LOVED it! Bravo, Dustin!

From cutting a pizza together in honor of how they met to including elements from the movie UP to celebrate their love of travel, everywhere we looked Erin and Kevin’s entire day was packed with special details unique to them, and this is what made their wedding so sweet and incredible.

Q & A with Erin and Kevin…

Q: What made your wedding unique to you?
A: Everything! We tried to find ways to make our wedding as personal as possible. From having a pizza cutting ceremony to highlight where we met as kids, to personal vows, to including people at the wedding that not only supported the marriage, but were all genuinely happy for us, it was the most perfect day.

Q: What were you looking for from your wedding photographer?
A: We were looking for someone who would genuinely know what we needed before we did.

Q: How did you choose your wedding vendors?
A: Nicole & Paul were an easy choice because they have been there for not only this wedding but many others over the years that I've attended. Endicott Estate was a no brainer for us. We live four blocks away and both have very strong ties to Dedham. We grew up going to events like car shows, semi-formals, and Halloween parties at Endicott; Our DJ was also recommended by the Endicott Estate team.

Q: What advice can you give engaged couples looking to hire a wedding photographer?
A: Call Nicole and don't look back…. But if you're going to look for others to compare, look at the portfolios and make sure you feel connected to the images presented to you. These are an investment, but to be able to look back and be so stunned by the beauty of the photos year after year, that's the magic!

Q: If you had to describe your wedding vibe or theme, what would you say?
A: It was so personalized in every way it's hard. We did little touches of the movie UP because we love to travel and live life. The Pizza as appetizers and a pizza cutting ceremony were a shoutout to our initial meeting when I was 16 and he was 21. We had what I would call 20's flair for my dress and the groomsmen attire. So, a beautiful hodgepodge of us, much like our blended family.

Q: Why is it important to have great wedding photos?
A: See above, the investment in being able to look back and LOVE them is worth it.

Q: What was the favorite part of your ceremony and / or reception?
Erin: Everything was amazing, I think walking down the aisle to my guy and seeing the pure joy and excitement through his tears was my favorite part of all.
Kevin: Everything, but the first look at Erin was by far the most memorable.

Q: What was your First Dance song and what is its significance to you as a couple?
A: Our first official date as a couple was at a Lee Brice Concert on June 15, 2019. Kevin asked me to go with him when I jokingly sent him a text saying, "There's a Rumor going Round" and we've been dancing together ever since.

Q: What made you want to hire us for your wedding?
A: It wasn't even a question of who to call when we got engaged!

Q: What was your favorite part about working with us?
A: I didn't have to think about where you were and what you were capturing. We were able to enjoy our day and knew at the end of the day you and Paul were getting all of the moments we were a part of and some that we were missing because we couldn't be everywhere at the same time. My favorite ninjas!

Q: Did we help solve any unexpected wedding day problems that may have come up during the day?
A: Nicole you and Paul made sure everything from getting the groom in the chair for a little color correction makeup happened to keeping calm when my 3-year-old nephew wanted to see every single shot you took, which was so appreciated.

Q: Anything else you want to add about your wedding details and overall experience?
A: Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. You both made our day magical, we can't wait to see all the photos!
